Wholesale Alcohol Suppliers

Drinks Empire Company is a licensed wholesale alcohol supplier based in Walsall, England, shipping beer, wine, spirits and champagne in bulk to UK trade buyers and export markets. We supply retailers, convenience stores, wholesalers, distributors, importers and licensed hospitality venues. We do not sell to the public.

Our AWRS registration

We are approved under HMRC’s Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme, AWRS URN XZAW00000111737.

Empire Drinks Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 11475056, VAT GB302674131, at 193 Stafford Street, Walsall, England, WS2 8ED.

Verify that URN with HMRC before you order. We would rather you checked.

Why the buyer has to check, not just the seller

Since 2017, any business buying alcohol for resale in the UK must confirm its supplier is registered under AWRS. The obligation sits with the buyer. If you purchase from an unregistered wholesaler, HMRC can seize the goods and your own licence is exposed — the fact that you did not know the supplier was unregistered is not a defence.

A legitimate wholesaler will give you their URN without hesitation. If a supplier is vague about it, treat that as the answer. What is AWRS explains the scheme, and how to check an AWRS number walks through the HMRC lookup.

What we supply in bulk

  • Whiskey — single malt, blended, bourbon, Irish and Japanese
  • Beer — premium lagers, stouts, wheat beers and non-alcoholic lines
  • Wine — red, white and rosé, everyday house wines through to premium labels
  • Champagne and sparkling wine — including Dom Pérignon, Moët & Chandon and Louis Roederer

Duty-paid or under bond

Every quote states clearly whether the price is duty-paid or under bond, alongside the Incoterm and lead time. Alcohol leaving the UK is not subject to UK excise duty, though the destination country levies its own. Import duty, taxes and any product registration in the destination market are the buyer’s responsibility.

UK alcohol duty explained covers how duty affects what you pay.

Ordering

There is no overall minimum order value — each product carries its own MOQ, shown on the product page. Premium spirits carry higher minimums than fast-moving beer because the capital per case differs. Mixed orders are consolidated into a single shipment.

UK orders dispatch within 3–5 working days. Export orders typically ship within 2–3 weeks, allowing for documentation and container consolidation. We quote on FOB, CIF and DAP — see trade terms for the full breakdown.

Request pricing

Send products, quantities and destination country through the contact form, use the quote button on any product, or message us on WhatsApp. Trade prices are per case or per pallet, excluding VAT.
